Big Ed Brown, one of the stars of TLC’s hit show “90 Day Fiancé,” has announced that his engagement to Porscha Raemond is off, just one week after popping the question at a restaurant. In an Instagram post, the 59-year-old reality star shared that he had reflected deeply and realized that rushing into the decision was a mistake. Despite the break-up, he expressed his respect and love for Porscha.
In a follow-up video, Big Ed admitted that his impulsive proposal was not what he truly wanted and that it was too soon for such a commitment. He described the romance as a whirlwind moment and thanked his fans for their continued support throughout the journey.
Their love story began just a week ago during a paid appearance at a sandwich shop in Florida. Porscha walked into the shop, approached Big Ed with open arms, and even gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek. They hit it off instantly, and he asked her to hang out the following night. Little did he know that, encouraged by a friend, he would be proposing to her that night with a makeshift engagement ring made out of a paperclip, courtesy of the restaurant manager.
The proposal, caught on video and shared on TMZ, received mixed reactions. Some viewers believed it was forced and staged, but Big Ed reassured everyone that it was the real deal. He described meeting Porscha as love at first sight and called her his dream girl.
Big Ed became a household name from his appearances on multiple seasons of “90 Day Fiancé” franchise shows. However, this isn’t his first engagement. He has been engaged four times, with two of them documented on the show. Prior to his fame, he was married to Sandra Heckman, but they divorced in 1992 due to infidelity. It wasn’t until 30 years later that he made his debut on “90 Day
After breaking up with Rose Vega, his previous fiancée, Big Ed quickly moved on to a relationship with Liz Woods, who happened to be a manager at his favorite restaurant. Although they were together for several years, their relationship was tumultuous, leading them to break up and reconcile more than a dozen times.
Big Ed’s journey on the show has been filled with ups and downs, but his authenticity and charm have made him one of the franchise’s biggest stars. While this engagement may not have worked out, his fans continue to support him as he navigates the world of love and relationships.
